We only had one in our school but I was fortunate to get into an engineering college and then I got a computer consulting job for the consulting arm of Tata Group. Susan Adams: Tell me about your background.ĭarpan Munjal: I’m from New Delhi where my father had a government job. In this edited and condensed interview, Munjal talks about what makes a great name. He had launched Squadhelp as a hobby in 2011 and only in January started devoting himself full-time to the company, which produced $500,000 in revenue last year. Though he raised more than $4 million in venture funding, Fashionara failed early this year. and India before starting his first business in 2012, a fashion e-commerce platform in India called Fashionara. An immigrant from New Delhi, Munjal was a technology consultant in the U.S. Squadhelp has seven employees, including four who work from India. For $399, they get services like a trademark check and a non-disclosure agreement that requires contest entrants to keep details of the company confidential. For $249, companies can also crowdsource logo designs. Naming contests start at $199, with half of the proceeds going to the winner who comes up with the name.
